After switching over from classical piano in his teens, he was very grateful to receive some incredible opportunities to develop, including a Royal Albert Hall performance with the St Albans Music School Big Band, and attendance to the nationally recognised Purcell School of Music for jazz composition.
His affinity with writing music growing up has informed Dave's long-standing love of improvised music - something that he regularly persues at jazz jam nights across Bristol as well as when fronting nu-jazz outfit "Fantastic Stranger" or his own ambient works under the moniker of "30 Circles"
He is widely recognised across Bristol for being able to seamlessly adapt to and excel in any (and we do mean any) genre, when he is not of course playing a huge number of weddings, clubs, parties and corporate events! Dave plays at about 100 such events every year, and its the feedback loop of the awestruck crowds encouraging him onwards and upwards that ensures that there is not a single thought of slowing down! The greatest saxophonist I’ve ever seen… and exponentially greater than anybody else in the game. I first met Dave at a gig in Leicester Square performing while standing on tables and was right in there amongst the guests - and was the perfect natural choice for when I decided to get married abroad. He’s that great, we said “if we get your flights and accommodation would you perform for us in Greece” and he absolutely nailed it. From the peak of the night to the quietest parts, the tone and energy was of the highest possible standard - and when we decided to write our first dance, Dave sent through several recordings that we could use to include sax in this special commission. So a great all rounder - studio and live - and a pleasure to work with. I cannot recommend anybody more.

I booked Dave for my husbands 30th birthday party and we couldn't have been happier with the result. After a bad experience with our wedding I was very hesitant but Dave was easy to communicate with and answered all my queries and requests calmly, he even arrived early to ensure the set up was right. He has an excellent range of songs but was happy to play what we requested along side. He even went along with the surprise! Throughout and at the end of the night we had nothing but positive feedback from our guests who like us thought he was amazing. Amazing!!! My wedding was an extremely hot day so most of the guests were outside or in the bar area and Dave walked around the whole venue to make sure everyone got to enjoy his music .
